The group started back in 2017 and since then we have organised numerous hikes, camping trips, multi-day expeditions, abseiling and bouldering sessions, and kayaking adventures. We love connecting with others through shared interests and creating long-lasting memories. A huge part of our journey is finding top-quality gear, which is why we love shopping at Wild Earth for all our outdoor essentials. Each of us has reviewed a favourite piece of gear, sharing why it’s indispensable to our adventures—whether it’s the comfort, durability, or reliability that makes it a must-have for every trip. From tents to backpacks, our gear is a crucial part of making every adventure memorable.
The Patagonia Torrentshell 3L is my ultimate rain companion and it’s like having a personal umbrella that fits into my backpack. Whether it’s a drizzle or full-on downpour, this jacket keeps me dry whilst still being breathable and not making me overheat like some rain jackets do. I’ve taken this jacket on many trips and hikes and it has never let me down! I think everyone needs one of these rain jackets in their kit.
The Merrell Moab 3 Mid GTX boots are my favourite hiking boots, offering exceptional comfort and support on every trail. With their reliable Gore-Tex waterproofing, I've tackled muddy, rocky, and wet terrains without ever worrying about soggy feet. The combination of durable construction and responsive cushioning makes them perfect for long hikes, and I trust them for every adventure, no matter the conditions.
The Big Agnes Zoom UL Sleeping Pad is my top choice because it combines lightweight design, outstanding comfort, and dependable durability, making it ideal for any outdoor adventure.
The Garmin Fenix Watch is hands down my favourite product thanks to its combination of rugged design, amazing GPS accuracy, and the battery life is super long-lasting. Whether I’m hitting the trails or just using it for daily life, its tough sapphire crystal and many features always make me feel prepared and confident.
The Osprey Aether 65L is a multi day pack designed for long-distance hiking and camping. It offers comfort and great ventilation from the Airscape back panel. It has a great fit with excellent load transfer thanks to the custom "fit on the fly" shoulder strap pads, adjustable torso and hip belt that integrates a light wire frame into the adjustment system.
Although it's not the lightest pack on the market it offers excellent durability which is necessary in rugged conditions. It includes a rain cover that fits true to size and does a fantastic job of keeping the bag and its contents dry.
The Aether handles weight extremely well and is a good option for those who like to carry extra gear (luxury items) or photographers who may carry the extra weight and want the reassurance that their gear is protected.
Personally, the Aether has been a great investment. I've completed many challenging multi-day hikes including Western Arthur's, Hitchenbrook Island/Mt Bowen, Snow camping in the Victoria high country and hiking in Europe. My pack has been faultless and has lasted years of use. It still has many years of life left. I couldn't recommend it enough to any serious hiker!

The Neve Gear ultralight quilt has been a staple in my pack packing kit for years. (This is the -8 degree one) It’s been a key item on all of my trips, with the versatility of being able to handle trips to the snowy mountains to the unpredictability of Tassie where one morning it was -2 and the next 20.
I’m a side sleeper and move around a bit at night. So traditional sleeping bags always felt so restrictive. Having a quilt was game-changing…honestly. I have been able to have higher quality sleep on the trail rather than waking up every hour and being unable to move around.
If you’re looking at upgrading your sleep system or just starting out I couldn’t recommend this quilt enough. For the versatility, weight, and comfort I think it’s well worth a trip to Wild Earth to grab.
The Coros Apex 2 has transformed my trail running experience. The SEQ series challenges, elevation-focused routes, that push my limits, whilst the Scenic Run series keeps training fresh with curated, GPS-mapped routes through stunning landscapes. Its easy to use interface simplifies mid-run adjustments and the 45-hour GPS battery life ensures it lasts through my longest training days. Whether tackling hills or logging 5km intervals, it’s a watch that genuinely supports every step of my journey.
I bought the Patagonia Houdini as a windbreaker for when I run or hike the trails. It‘s incredibly lightweight and packs down so small, no bigger than the palm of my hand. This makes it the perfect addition to any outdoor adventure.
For some extra warmth and cosiness, I love to layer my Patagonia Down Sweater Vest with the Houdini.
I recently purchased the Grisport Classic Mid hiking boots for my solo hiking trip to New Zealand. A classic robust, waterproof leather hiking boot with a Vibram sole, which is always a must. Top-notch ankle support, comfort and grip guaranteed!
The Yeti water bottle is hands down my favourite because it combines durability and style in a way that makes hydration feel like a luxury. I love how it keeps my drinks ice-cold for hours, whether I’m outside, working or just running errands. It’s the kind of bottle that’s tough enough for any adventure but looks good enough to take with me everywhere.
